We were blessed with a wonderful spring weekend here in London. While Chicago continues to struggle with freezing temps (Ha-Ha!), I put my winter coat into storage and headed out to the East End of London with Sally. Near Liverpool Street station is the Old Spitalfields Market, a rambling market filled with antiques, tchocky t-shirt shops, cheap clothing and Etsy‘esque crafters.
Sally and I are desperate to replace the horrible Corporate Art that our flat came with. Specifically, the Black and White photos of Sea Shells that adorn our family room. While we didn’t find anything we both agreed upon, we did have a great time exploring the area.
Beyond the Old Spitalfields Market (which frankly – was a bit Touristy), is the much more ecclectic Brick Lane area, which on Sunday is full of pop-up Antiques & Craft Markets (not to mention amazing street food). This area is definitely more my scene in terms of shopping – though I probably looked a bit out of place – what with the Banana Republic shirt and all… Unfortunately, I haven’t dusted my camera off yet since moving, so we’ll have to make do with a few pics grabbed from Flickr. Enjoy!
